a "digital stereo 8" a.k.a. 8-track, was made late last year as an anachronistic mix-tape for/ode to rollergirl. the self-imposed rules: all on one .mp3 file, could not be over 30 minutes, eclectic and semi-esoteric 70s music only, and a short intermission for aesthetic purposes. several of the cuts have been slightly tweaked, edited, or manipulated in an effort to elevate the work to valid artistic expression (yet only the reader can determine if it achieves that goal); i.e. sometimes only a few seconds of a track is used, some tracks overlap, a few puns are included, etc. some transitions are smooth, others slightly awkward, but always surreal and dreamlike. and, intimate in both senses of the word. because every rollergirl deserves a boogie knight.
